AW21 Fashion Trends - As Seen On Influencers

AW21 Fashion Trends - As Seen On Influencers

With September on our doorstep, it's time to step out in some new threads. Here are the trends seen across runways and social feeds to look out for...

September is the most important month in the fashion calendar. It's where autumn and winter starts coming in, with a natural transition from skimpy summer outfits to layering and luxuriously warm fabrics. If you're looking for ways to switch up your wardrobe and style yourself for the new season, this is the guide for you!

Scroll down to see this season's trends and how our favourite UK fashion influencers are styling them. And even better - you can shop their wardrobes right here on kathywilliamsmarketing.

If you're new kathywilliamsmarketing - welcome! We are a leading platform for second-hand and pre-loved clothes sourced directly from fashion influencers' closets. With over 300 influencers on our books, you can shop by influencer, shop by brand, or check out our new drops, coming in almost daily. We love stocking the best finds in second-hand fashion, and, with every item sold, we donate a percentage to charity too!

1. Bold & Bright

Fashion can be a celebration, and it seems the world opening up this year has brought along just that. Step out into a safer world in bright, bold prints, colours, textures, and cuts, and bring through summery pastels and nightwear neons into your autumn-winter wardrobe too. We love these three looks, as seen on Tiffany Watson, Lauren Nicole, and Sophie Hannah, mixing bursts of bright colours with playful accessories and contrasting handbags.

2. Dark Wash Denim

In contrast to the bright prints and colours above, your denim is going to get a wintry makeover with dark blues and indigos showing across catwalks this season. Channel your inner Kelly Harrington - our favourite denim influencer - and go for dark wash jackets, wide-leg jeans, and more. Georgia Hirst looks retro in her pair, while CC Clarke channels a Y2K vibe.

3. Transitional Knitwear

With summer creeping into autumn, knitwear is going to be a transitional affair. Go for pieces that work well with layering, so you can adjust to summery spells and wintry breezes whenever the weather changes. And think outside the box! While creams and browns are more traditional knitwear colours, as seen on Alexx Coll and Clelia Theodorou, there's an opportunity to bring through different colours and styles to continue with AW21's obsession with bright shades, like Georgia May Heath does here.

4. Layers On Layers On Layers

It's no surprise to see layering back on the radar with colder weather coming our way. But have you considered layering different fabrics, textures, and even bags? Go for a matching cross-body bag and knee-high boots as Mariam Musa does here to tie any outfit together. For softer textures, try layering with small details like the collars and ruffled sleeves - Charlotte Buttrick is the master of this. Or simply step out in confidence in layered prints like Danielle Vanier!

5. Mini Mini Skirts

In stark contrast to autumn-winter's usual layering aesthetic, bare thighs are on trend for AW21. Go for a teeny tiny mini-skirt, and pair it with a blazer, knee-high boots, and a whole lot of attitude. We love how Styled By Nana pulls together brighter colours and this trend, while Rachel Leary looks stunning in an all-black ensemble, and Natseleen carries through this year's sheer top trend.

6. Power Suits

Our workplaces have changed so much over the last 18 months, and workwear is moving away from traditional work attire and into a playful way to elevate an everyday activity into something a little special. Power suits continue to show up in runways and on social feeds like, and these three exemplify sub-trends too: asymmetric suits, as seen on Rebecca Jackson, colourful suits, as seen on Simona Snarskis, and tailored suits, as seen on Peony Lim.

7. Sheer Black

Little black dresses are always in, and for AW21, black outfits incorporate dresses, jumpsuits, suits, and more. For all-black outfits, it's all about the styling: look for cinched waists, bodycon cut-outs, and statement jewellery. We love how Jessica Millichamp, Grace Surguy, and Anna Vakili all style black in their own unique way.

8. All Things Glamour

Finally - let's celebrate! As Laura Wills put in her caption: "Life is short. Wear the dress." It seems fashion has embodied this mantra with glitter, glamour, and sequins shining all over this year's AW21 runways. So treat yourself, dress up, and enjoy the best that fashion has to offer. We love Vogue William's soft, silk interpretation of this, and Nikita Rai's sparkly version.
